Sport news : DOUBLE BLOW FOR MADRID AS BALE AND NAVAS SUFFER INJURIES

Real Madrid have been dealt a double blow in their bid for La Liga and Champions League glory after revealing Gareth Bale and Keylor Navas have sustained injuries.

Bale has suffered a sprained knee joint, while Navas picked up an ankle injury against Manchester City on Wednesday that has been diagnosed as Achilles tendinitis.

Madrid are yet to reveal how long they expect both Bale and Navas to be out of action for, leaving manager Zinedine Zidane sweating on the results of further tests.

Bale has sparkled in recent weeks by scoring winners against Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad, before providing the cross which brought about the winner which sent Los Blancos into the Champions League final at the expense of Manuel Pellegrini's City on Wednesday.
Navas, on the flip side, has been one of Madrid's best performers throughout the campaign, keeping 21 clean sheets in 43 appearances so far this season.

The Spanish giants face Valencia and Deportivo in their final two Liga matches as they look to keep pace with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid at the top of the table.

Madrid are also vying for their second Champions League crown in three years and 11th in total when they face fierce rivals Atletico on 28 May.
